VND800 million for the 30 seconds of the World Cup finals

VTV has raised the final bid for the record, with $VND 800 million for a 30-second screening.
On the morning of June 28, the Center for Advertising and Television Services (TVAd) of Vietnam Television (VTV) has announced the adjustment of advertising unit prices finals and closing ceremony of 2018 FIFA World Cup on two channels VTV6 and VTV2.

Accordingly, the price of each spot (TV spot) 30 seconds TVC advertising in the final is 800 million. Business can save with spot 10 seconds, price 400 million. Ad prices in the final comment and closing ceremony are a bit cheaper, with 750 million for the 30 second spot and 450 million for the 15 second spot.

Previously, on June 11, VTV has announced advertising unit prices in the programs of the 2018 World Cup. The final, final and closing comments are listed at the level of 500 million and 450 million dong for each 30 seconds spot. Thus, after only half a month, the price of the finals for the spot 30 seconds has increased to 300 million.

With the current adjustment, this is the highest advertising price in the World Cup finals on VTV. At the 2014 World Cup, the highest price was 350 million for 30 seconds of ads, losing about 2.3 times the new record.

An advertising industry expert said that this level is not too unexpected. "This World Cup finals will take place in the beautiful hour (from 20h30)." Moreover, the price of the 'hot' game show is now also 200-300 million per spot. "the expert explained.

In the semi-finals, VTV bids at the price of 175-350 million, corresponding to advertising time from 10 seconds to 30 seconds. In the quarterfinals, advertising prices will be in the frame of 150-300 million, with a duration of 10 seconds to 30 seconds.

On June 8, VTV announced the agreement with Infront Sports & Media on the rights to broadcast World Cup 2018 on the territory of Vietnam. The deal was closed at 23h on June 7, less than a week before the official ball rolling in Russia.

This delay comes from the price that Infront Sports & Media, which owns, distributes copyright in 26 countries and territories (mainly in South East Asia, South Asia and Central Asia). . No details were disclosed, but Nguyen Ha Nam, editor-in-chief of VTV, said that the radio station would lose about 90 percent of its revenue and declare not to buy at all. According to him, all previous big football events like Euro and World Cup, VTV lost money because advertising revenue is not enough to pay for copyright as well as production costs of the program.

The bottleneck was solved with the appearance of the sponsors Vingroup Group. On June 7th, after receiving the proposal of VTV, this multidisciplinary group decided to sponsor $ 5 million - supposedly accounted for about half of the money VTV paid to partners.
